Recently completing their debut EP, Disguises, The Arsonist eagerly await the launch at the Rosemount Hotel in North Perth on September 1.

With a penchant for thick, driving synths, electro beats, soothing harmonies and displaying a collective experience well beyond that of a band in its embryonic stages, The Arsonist have quickly made their mark on the local scene playing some of Perth's most popular venues.

Between them, the members of the Arsonist have played some of Australia's biggest festivals and venues. Their releases have charted at the top of the AIR and ARIA charts. Their past and present projects have been nominated for numerous awards and have burned countless miles touring home and abroad.

The brainchild of Louis Rendle-O'shea and Nic Di Lena, the project began as two friends, with a mutual affinity for pop, recording their own demos from home. After laying down a plethora of songs with a keen focus on melody and distinct pop sensibilities, they decided it was time to expand. In order to reproduce the tracks live, they recruited bass player Tim Collins and got to work on arranging and rehearsing the material. The final piece was put into place when, after writing drum parts for the demos, long-time friend Steve Judd (Karnivool) was added as a permanent member and The Arsonist was formed.

The bands debut EP 'Disguises', engineered by Dave Parkin (Jebediah, Sugar Army, Red Jezebel), pays homage to pop music that has dominated both dance-floors and airwaves for years, all the while effortlessly creating an original brand of upbeat electro-pop that is overtly infectious.
