Fremantle band Dublin Jazz Aunts will be performing at The Rosemount Hotel in North Perth on Thursday 2nd of February. Doors will open at 8pm with an $8 door charge. “DJA” will be supported by local Artists The Reductors, Epsilon and Sticky Sweet.
Dublin Jazz Aunts: English born founding member (singer/song writer guitarist) Kenny Austin formed the “DJA” in 2010. In his search to find musicians to suit his unique style and brand of music he introduced the powerful and eclectic sounds of cello player and good friend Joe Troy, bassist and backing vocalist Tony Ball and drummer/percussionist Daine Spowart.
Performing around Fremantle and spending time in the recording studio has seen the sound of the “Dublin Jazz Aunts” evolve dramatically from the early sounds of an acoustic roots artist. With an electric cello rock sound, a tight rhythm section and unique/powerful vocal sound has seen DJA develop into a real roots based rock band with an edge.
The bands Audiences have described their sound as “honest, fresh, exciting and powerful”.
Plus it’s Spaceship Thursday @ The Rosemount which means some super special guest DJs will be hitting the decks from 7.30pm, in the Beer Garden, where entry is FREE with $12 Jugs of TEDs and $14 Chicken Parmi’s for dinner!
